Health and Happiness





I've been going to the gym atleast 3 days a week (trying to anyway!) since January. This is the longest I've been able to stick with it. Back in November of 2007 I had a doctors appt where I was told that I was borderline diabetic (had been for 6 mths) and if after 6 more months of being borderline, I'd have to go on meds.

So I got serious.

That's when I started at the gym and started trying to cut out so much sugar. Sugar has always been my downfall! I LOVE ice cream, cake and cookies!!!! Pies will work too!lol Back in the day I would eat 3 pints of Ben and Jerry's in a week!!! I would have such terrible cravings. I thought I'd never break out of that! I've struggled with my weight since after my son was born in 1997. I went from 200lbs to 236!!

200lbs is actually comfortable for me at my height (5'9"). I'm trying to get back there and maybe pass it by 20! I finally got on the scale the other day at the gym and found out that I've lost 4lbs!!! Yes, it took me from January to do it, but I'm still happy!!! I'm on the right track. I just hope when I get my blood checked, my sugar is under control.

The devil attacks me daily with food! Eating right is really hard for me, but I've made some strides. It's been a really long process. I've been actively working on eating better since October 2006...so it really doesn't happen overnight.

Thank you Lord for the strength you've given me to make serious changes in my life. It's necessary. I'm going on 40 and it's about time I get healthy, huh?

My doctors appt is scheduled for May 30.

YOUR BORDERLINE DIABETIC. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ACCEPT THAT. DON'T LET OLD SLEW FOOT PLAQUE YOU WITH IT. THERE ARE GOOD FOODS OUT THERE YOU CAN EAT.ONE THING YOU SHOULD BE EATING CINNEMON, LIKE PUTTING IN ON YOUR CEREAL..AND FRESH GARLIC, THEN YOU HAVE TO GET GOOD MINTS TO CHEW AFTER THAT, BUT GARLIC IS VERY GOOD..LOW SUGAR AND LOW FAT. AND EAT EVERY TWO - THREE HOURS, A SNACK. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT WAS A DIABETIC.. BECAUSE OF HER HEART SHE COULD NOT EXERCISE, BUT EXERCISE IS EXCELLENT..
BY HIS STRIPES YOU ARE THE HEALED OF THE LORD.. THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD....... GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE IN GOOD HEALTH.....
YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH THIS. AND YOU CAN BE THANKFUL YOU DON'T HAVE DIABETES, JUST BORDERLINE.. AND YOU CAN HANDLE THAT FINE I KNOW. YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD DOCTORS REPORT WHEN YOU GO IN... KEEP TRUSTING IN THE LORD.. HE IS FAITHFUL TO HIS WORD. TELL OLE SLEW FOOT TO TAKE A HIKE.
FATHER I ASK THAT YOU WILL HELP RACHEL TO EAT RIGHT, LOW FAT FOOD LOW SUGARS... YOU ARE HER HEALER, AND BY YOUR STRIPES SHE IS ALREADY THE HEALED OF THE LORD.
