Joyce Meyer Woman to Woman

I was at the basketball game with my son the other day when I read Chapter 52 Surviving The Seasons of Life. This chapter really made me think about my own life and "where I am". Joyce outlined 4 seasons of life, one of which we are in at any given time: plowing time, seed time, waiting and weeding time and harvest time.

"Plowing time is all about preparation in our lives-breaking up the uncultivated ground-turning up things in our lives that we would rather not have to deal with and breaking them into good soil."*******My plowing time was back in 2005 when I rededicated my life to Christ. This was when I let go of negative people and a wrong lifestyle. This wasn't easy for me, but it was necessary. It was a very lonely time.

"Seed time represents obedience-learning to do the will of God. Each time we choose God's will instead of our own, we're planing a good seed that will eventually bring a rich harvest." ******2005-2006 This was when we had our apartment fire and I had to decide to stand and not run. We lost alot, but each step of the way I could see God. This was when I began tithing for the first time in my life. I went back to church after 10+ years.

"Waiting and Weeding can be just as difficult as the other seasons. Most people don't know how to wait well...and pulling weeds is no picnic either. This is a time we must pull out the weeds in our lives-- things like anger and bitterness--and unless we pull them out roots and all, they will come right back. Waiting is a time to get rooted and grounded in the love of God, trusting Him to bring the harvest."******This started taking place when I moved from Nashville to Dallas after my apartment fire. I was living with my niece and my sister. This time was clearly defining for me. I began to see all of the things in me that needed changing in order for me to enjoy my life. I was stingy and uncaring. God put me around people who were the opposite and forced me to face myself and change. It wasn't easy.

"Harvest is a time when the desires of our heart become a reality. Our kids change. Prosperity comes. We have favor everywhere we go. We receive promotions and honor....and enjoy a season of peace. God brings justice for all the past injustices of our life."********Ahhhhhhhhhh....Harvest......I am SO waiting for you!!!!!!!!!! But since I know you're next, I will NOT give up! Come on harvest! God promised me and I'm waiting for ya!!

Now, yall have sat here and read this. Can you see what season you are in? And hey, if you read it and you're only in the plowing season, don't be discouraged...During every season, there were great blessings and many days of learning the greatness of God. It was an amazing time. Every season had good days and bad days...but just know that if you go through these seasons with God, it's worth it! You will learn so much about yourself.

I think that once you get to harvest, it starts all over and you keep learning and growing in God, but when the next plowing comes, at least you'll know that Joy truly does come in the morning!!! Hallelujah!

What season are you in? Wanna share?

I would have to give this some thought - is it possible to cycle through these seasons rapidly?

Interesting.

@ jewlsntexas, I think how fast you cycle through depends on you. Some of us are going to get thru certain seasons faster. It probably has to do with how obedient we are and how open we are to change. My shortest season was Plowing...after that, they got longer and longer! LOL

I would have to say that I'm in the Harvest part of my life... and I totally agree with you -- "once you get to harvest, it starts all over and you keep learning and growing in God."

And you quoted one of my favorite scriptures -- I LOVE that Joy comes in the morning -- ALWAYS!!
