I used to really enjoy commenting, so I'm not sure why I don't anymore. Maybe I'm just tired and need a break? My semester just started back; maybe that's it. I guess it'll pass.
Just know that I'm still out here reading your material; just haven't commented! So, keep the good content coming!lol
So, how many blogs are on your reader?
Of that number, how many do you comment on everyday?

I have more than 100 blogs - and some of the bloggers are quite prolific writers - meaning they write a lot - and I can't read them all. But I try to read my "basics" list daily. For the last month we've had houseguests so I haven't really felt like commenting either - just haven't had the time. I have here and there but not like I usually do.
I understand.
Good morning Rachel! I don't always comment - as you know.... not because I don't care. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm in the right frame of mind or don't feel like I can add something positive or sometimes I'm just simply reading on the "fly!"
I think it's okay not to post comments all the time. I do think it is nice to post comments sometime though....especially if you think you have something that will help someone or offer encouragement or make someone laugh or be a blessing!
Good luck in school. Hope you have a great and blessed day!
Good Sunday morning! I have too many blogs to count ('cause I'm lazy and don't want to!), and I visit every one who posts every time he/she posts. (I have my blogroll set so that it shows me whenever anyone posts.)
Whenever I visit, I comment. I feel as if I'm visiting in your home or seeing you on the street--so I speak. Not to speak, would be impolite--a snub.
Sometimes--most of the time--my comments are brief. It doesn't take long to say "Hi" or "Happy Sunday!"
Once in a while, I see something offensive, and I struggle to think of a nice thing to say. Usually, I come up with something, but on one or two occasions, I have just quietly left. (Shh!)
You are extremely busy; I understand, and I'll wait for you. You're worth it!
@smilingsal, Wow, what a sweet thing to say! I feel the same way about the blogs I read. For alot of them I don't mind if they don't post everyday or even comment on mine everyday. I enjoy the reading!
I am currently following 76 feeds via Google reader in two major categories. Work related (security) and personal (general). I track your blog along with 50 others in the general category and give these the most attention. I have found that I have the exact same problem of not commenting and I think it has affected by blog traffic. Once you stop commenting you stop leaving the link crumb trails that lead people back to your blog(s).
@theozz, you are so right about the traffic! I'm gonna have to pick myself up and start commenting again!LOL
LOL, i think I have 50 or more that I red regularly! I'm with you though...sometimes I'm just to tired and busy to comment, so I just end up lurking around...
Its Ok - not to always leave comments if you are tired. I think I read about 20. Then I do BATW and SITS. Sometiens it is hard to read them all and do all the stuff I need to do.
I also have over 100 blogs and I try to go by all of those daily (I said I try!) I don't comment on all because it is so time consuming. I am also as we speak going through and adding these blogs to my google reader, again very time consuming!
I will eventually try to put these in categories or folders, whatever!
sometime the latest post isn't something that I identify with so I don't comment!
I can't even count the number on my reader...lol. I do try to make it a practice to read the ones on my blogroll daily and comment each time. But I know what you mean about ....just not feeling like it sometimes.
Hi Rachel-
I am in a category all by myself here - I do not read too many blogs and probably have less than 10 that I check regularly.
As mentioned by the others, I don't always leave a comment because I don't relate and I avoid writing just two words 'great post' and hope to find something more meaningful to add to the mix.
Hope you have a great semester.
Myriam
I've never used a reader.
I know, I really should get with the times!
LOL!!!
I just have a list and I go down it daily.
((HUGS))
Using Google Reader has helped me keep track of my blogs. I can grow my list and not worry about it! GET A READER!LOL
I don't use reader either--I have it and have added a few to it..but never check it! i like cruising around more.
I must admit that I had about 150 blogs I read on a daily basis, I finally figured out that I could not keep up with them all and leave meaningful comments, so I went through a cleaning phase and dropped it down to about 30 that I knew I would be able to respond on.
I hate to say this but I am now back up to 80 (only a week and a half later) but I am doing much better at leaving my thoughts behind.
With the end of summer, I am only reading a few a day. Hopefully, I will be able to read more as the kids get back to school. I don't comment all of the time either. I also don't subscribe. Maybe I will someday but I like to read different writers based on my mood and what I need to read that day.
