Mel and I had a good time at The Taste of Dallas, but I've gotta be honest: I had more fun last year.
Why?
Because last year I wasn't watching what I ate because of diabetes! Don't get me wrong, I had a good time, but I also had restrictions. I didn't want to go out there in that heat and eat all of the wrong things and then end up not feeling well.
The first thing I ate was some ribs..I wanted to stick to meat/veggies/fruit.
Then I had like 3 bottles of water...it was about 95 degrees by 11am.
I also had ONE bite of Mel's Cinnabon!! WOW is all I can say!
Then I had a small sample of a rice and chicken dish. I tried not to eat alot of the rice, but it was really good.
Then I had ONE bite of a Snickerdoodle (the best ever!) from Tiff's Treats.
Then, right as we were leaving, I got one scoop of vanilla icecream (no toppings).
In all, I think I did very well! But I didn't like being able to get sodas and icees and cupcakes and nachos and so many other things they had!
But I do like being alive with no diabetic complications.
Amen.

Great job for you!!!!
And I'm sure it wasn't all that easy! (I know it wouldn't be for me!!)
That cinnabon looks soooo good! We don't have those in Arkansas (at least not where I live), but I had one once in St. Louis. It would be difficult to pass on that. I am glad you took care of yourself and still had fun! :)
That picture makes my mouth water lol. Cinnabon's are THE greatest!
I'm very proud of you though! To be around all that food and not being able to eat it all...you have strong willpower. I don't think I could've done it.
Wow just looking at that picture raised my blood sugar LOL!
it sounds like it wasn't easy but you did it, well done!
mmm now I"m hungry!
I think I just gained 10 pounds drooling, er um... I mean looking at that Cinnamon Bun.
