yesss, this has happened to me.
today i had the worst episode (i hadnt had one in a while, it isn't too frequent for me), and much of it is similar to yours except for a person on my bed (however that is a common occurence for people who experience this)
most doctors describe this condition due to sleep deprivation or unhealthy sleep patterns- they say your body is so tired and sometimes

There have been some times when I've thought I was awake and tried to open my eyes, but couldn't, or tried to say something but no sound came out, but that hasn't happened very often and it's always been very brief.

I have also, on occasion, had the feeling of someone sitting down on my bed with a thump, which is a little scary,
